Founded in 1989 as a family business, Ornate Interiors Ltd is a specialist plasterwork contractor working with clients, architects and conservation professionals on heritage, commercial and high-end residential projects across the UK. We specialise in the conservation, restoration and creation of traditional plasterwork within historic and existing buildings, combining established craft techniques with a thorough technical understanding of building fabric.

Our services include fibrous plaster mouldings, bespoke decorative plaster features, traditional lime plastering, and the running of mouldings in situ. We also undertake detailed plasterwork surveys and ceiling inspections to support informed conservation strategies, specification development and project planning. Our approach is grounded in a clear understanding of significance, condition and appropriate intervention, ensuring works are both technically sound and historically sensitive.

Our team is central to our delivery. Many of our skilled craftsmen began their careers as apprentices with Ornate Interiors and have progressed into senior and supervisory roles. This continuity of training and experience allows us to retain, develop and pass on traditional skills, while providing consistent leadership and quality assurance across complex and technically demanding projects.

We are a multi-award-winning contractor and proud recipients of the prestigious Plaisterers Award, widely recognised as the highest accolade within the plastering industry. This reflects our long-standing commitment to excellence in craftsmanship, technical competence and professional collaboration.

Supporting our site work is our purpose-built workshop, developed over the last three decades, where intricate bench-run mouldings and large feature ceilings are produced using traditional methods that have remained largely unchanged for centuries. This enables us to maintain control over quality, accuracy and programme while responding flexibly to project requirements.

At Ornate Interiors, we work collaboratively with project teams, prioritising clear communication, informed advice and considered solutions. We approach each building with respect for its fabric and character, delivering work that supports long-term conservation objectives and upholds the highest professional standards.

Our Vision

Our vision is to provide an exceptionally knowledgeable, honest and professional service that respects both our clients’ objectives and the buildings entrusted to our care. We set high standards in everything we do and are committed to continual improvement, with the ambition of being recognised as the specialist plasterer of choice.

We are dedicated to developing and preserving the skills of our trade. Through ongoing training and our apprenticeship programme, we actively invest in the next generation of craftsmen, helping to address the industry skills shortage while ensuring traditional techniques and best practice are passed on with integrity.
